Running against time

i swore that if i had to be on outstation, it will be more than 24 hours.
We were supposed to have this Technical Review Committe paper presented right after raya last month, but eventually they changed it to 6th november, last tuesday.
i was holding grudge over my superior since i already told him that whatever date or time the paper is to be presented, i'm ready except for 6th November, since i've already bought tickets for Chicago the musical opening night and was looking forward to watch it with my fiancee. Of course it was originally my scope but i've already hand it over to the other guy when he joined the team. so i thought that he could just replace me for that.
the reason being that i am more in the know about whats in and out of that thing pissed me. (thats what you get when you did a good job)...
In order not to waste the ticket, i told my fiancee to ask her fren to accompany her.
When we had our monthly meeting in miri last week, i was so happy that they decided to let me be in KL on that 6th. So i cancelled my trip to miri on 5th.
Suddenly last saturday, got a called from office. i had to go miri, because he needs to be in the office. running errands for the big boss. (just an excuse so that he could go back for deepavalli).
Shit, where got time to book ticket. In desperation not wanting to go to miri, i gave all possible excuses i got (except for i have to attend my granpa wedding/my cat is sick and nobody is home to take care of him..etc)
so on monday, i have our secretary to handle the ticket reservation and discreetly emphasize that i really need to be in KLCC on 6th by 8pm or else i would be in deep trouble. to make things more difficult, flight to miri on monday was fully booked and i only had the next morning and back in KL at 440 pm.
gosh...wish i had my own airplane.
however, i did manage to present the paper and although only conditional approval were given. heck, what matter most is i have to be in KL at this instance.
Arrived in KL at 635pm, straightaway running to ERL with hope that i'm not missing the train. got to wait for 10 minutes for the train and another 5 minutes for it to move. Arrive in KL Sentral at 740 pm and i only have 20 minutes more. she must be furious over me...
took a cab and specifically told him that he only have 15 minutes to take me to KLCC.
calmly he answered "Tgkla kalo jalan tak jam"...huhuhuh
Finally managed to get there, just few minutes late..traffic jam in KL is sucks.
felt sorry for her that she might missed few lines from Act 1.
next time, i'll take day off if i have a must attend event like this. can't take the risk...hehehee
