Just arrived yesterday from Bintulu. Spent the whole weekend in Kuching for my cousin wedding. It was indeed a very tiring journey to kuching. 10 hours behind the steering wheel, i could be in Ipoh, go to kuey-tiaw and back to KL again. Sigh.all my joint aches.
Wedding is such a tiring job to do. Even busier for the bride and bridegroom. In places where superstitious drives their live, both pengantin couldn't say much since everything will be answered by, "kalo jadi apa2 nnti, sebab tak buat ini, itu la masa kawin" haih, so you can't just made it custom to you.
even dresses are whole lot more tiring. even to those who sees. Have to changed clothes few times in an hour and posed in every single pose that mak andam could think of.
Different places in sarawak have different ritual of marriage ceremony. some have this walking down the stairs in sequence (down 1 step up 2 steps and so on) and if your house does have long stairs, just imagine it la...
For those whose village is nearby shore or riverbank, there is this ritual called "buang sial". I don't really understand the concept behind it, physically just throwing a nail (tied with something2)to the water or a ciggarette wrapped in betel leaves. Pagan believes...
Was hoping that i could have the chance to go shopping for something while i was in kuching. The reality is, i was so busy with everything (i am the driver of course) and the bridegroom family was slow at everything (cakap tak serupa bikin). Luckily i did managed to meet few friends in Kuching. Haven't change much i think.
