New age wave

Time : Mid 90’s
The time when suddenly malaysia teenagers were going board skating. I was in my very early teen age that time and it was still fresh in my head. Skateboarding is everything and so does its gear (I don’t have the luxury for it). Skateboarders, inline skaters and surfers brand outnumber famous sports apparel we usually know. Schwa, alien workshop, quicksilver, ocean pacific, world jungle, independent, air walk, rip curl and what else. So much that it was so expensive that time.
And in bintulu, it was like a competition. To have the only shirt of its kind in the town should be something to be proud of. And teen movie at that time was booming like mushroom after rain. The most famous at that time were a movie title KIDS. The first time I saw it, it was like wow. But eventually, I realize it now that the movie was more towards prevention to AIDS among teenagers campaign. And lots of other movies also, bio-dome was one of the movies at that time, airheads also and what else hah…
The new wave changes the style of clothes at that time. Lose torn jeans were favorite item. T-shirt and cap and shoes. Skateboarders apparel. Converse shoes were like a hit that time also. Classic converse one star was a rare item now, but not at that moment. That was the time when I grew up…..what I owe to that time was 1 quiksilver t-shirt (eddie aikau limited edition) and world jungle corduroy wallet (it was a gift) and my beloved possession, maroon converse one star.
Today, it was all in the past. They way I see them now reminds me how stupid I use to be.
