Masala and Dhal

Last Friday, i was craving for a curry and roti.
So after picking up my friend from work, I head to fulfill my craviness. There is this northern Indian restaurant just on the bank of MRR2, heading towards Gombak. I don’t remember the name of the restaurant, but it’s something not to be missed when using MRR2 from KL or cheras through ampang to gombak. It is a few blocks from Flamingo Hotel in ampang, I’ll update the name later.
Ok, about the restaurant. They served north Indian cuisine and I think a fusion of Malaysian Indian also. Parking there is easy since the restaurant hired this pak guard to secure their customers car. So that is not an issue to be raised. It’s an open area restaurant, and you were sitting just next to MRR2. Table are arranged nicely and not very crowded, so if you have a kid with you. They can just run all over the place, but you have to keep an eye on them also.
(the restaurant from my table)
For those who were familiar with mamak style menu, this won’t be as easy as that. It’s so hard to choose since the foods were named accordingly to the original name, which seems very hard for first timer. But there are few lists in the menu of which we are familiar, such as naan, dhal, masala and a few other more. The first time I went there, I asked for beriani and I regret of what I’ve ordered. The portion is so large that I can’t even finish the rice and the chicken. So this time, I’ve learnt my lesson. So I ordered naan with chicken masala and vegetable dhal. It took about 20 minutes for the chef to prepare the meal for me. I don’t really care, since I think that he gave all his effort to prepare the dinner, and I was right.

(Chicken Masala & Vegetable Dhal)

See top picture, on the left is chicken masala and on the right is the vegetable dhal. I really love the dhal, it’s the best dhal I ever experience. Actually, I don’t really like dhal, but since I don’t know what else to ordered I just ordered dhal.

(very very hungry)

How much does it cost me, well for 2 naan bread, a masala chicken, a vegetable dhal, a kiwifruit juice and an ice lemon tea….RM23 is not that expensive. Sometimes I do care bout how much is it, but since it really tastes wonderful, I don’t mind. Kudos to the chef.

P/S : The restaurant is Thaba Village, although its just beside MRR2. sometimes hard to notice. so drive slow and keep to the left of the road. you won't miss it.
