as usual...taktau nk tulis apa..its my 3rd month in this great land.
living in this country could actually be simple and easy, if not for some small and ridicule things that certain people would like to make a big fuss about..
top of the list
1. mobile services is restricted to locals only.
2. never give them authority power, however small it is..they just know how to misuse it.
3. unwritten policy
4. really not professional
5. the food is sucks and not hygenic
6. the women is hardworking and intelligent, unlike their other half
7. 10 dollar is normal, more is blackmailing

the list goes on....
well, on the bright side i'll be on holiday next week and be back to malaysia. 3 weeks will be a short one, but it's all i could get.

its still cold

its been a month or so without mobile phone services. there's no telling if i would managed to get hold of one.i just need the internet services. been asking around with all the secretaries if either one of them were able to bought the simcard for me, since only locals are allowed to register. with new ruling limits it to one simcard per person makes it even harder. some of the locals even selling it for usd100. even worst is that they terminate it afterward leaving us with useless piece of card. its just the way things work around here. i am beginning to hate them. call me racist, i wouldn't mind a little bit. i'll try again later.
i'm so missing my wife now.
its snowing in ashgabat and flights delayed because of thick snow on the lane. few of my colleagues stranded for a day, lucky for those chinese that snow falls yesterday, since most of them were leaving for chinese new year last week. on the contrary, kiyanly been windy all day long, with drips of rain. but there's no indication if its gonna snow here. last year it did thou.
its been a cold day today, with this morning on -7 deg celcius.
finished two books already, the japanese devil fish girl and the dadadesada code, both by robert rankin. not bad thou...quite entertaining as well. but again in this kind of situation, reading dictionary would probably be thrilling. am starting to read the prestige, looks interesting.
gosh, its february already..it would be anytime soon for performance appraisal. i hate it, but its important.. how am i gonna do it with internet like this..
well, internet had been good tonight, probably since most of its user are away on homeleave...

big time..with no recent update on when MTC will be activated, my only hope to virtual reality is thru office internet which is neither good as well.
this country is full of idiots...period
it doesn't matter if millions of business goes down the drain, till they get their 49% shares in MTC they will continue to denied access to the network..no wonder the russian gave them their freedom...its not worth keeping them under the federation..

Its new year already

its 2011 now…while others partying like theres no tomorrow last nite in some other places…here we are smashing shuttlecocks till midnite. its getting really cold now at this point of time. gonna post some photos of what it like here in kiyanly…

kiyanly is a small fishing village about 40km from its town turkmenbashy, it a decent town with all neccessary facilities available for them people. For the locals, life is simple and easy. but it is quite tough for us here.

Language spoken in either russian nor turkmen…both are worlds apart. but most can understand ruski. so it is essential to know some of the important phrases in russian to survive..

we have a room for ourselves here..no sharing room, personal business is important…here’s my room

although it is chilling now, but winter is not at its peak now here..bought a new heater, see that red glowing things…i ought to buy myself a carpet for the room, but since locals knew us expat so they tried to fork out dollar for us…2*2 meter turkmen carpet (machine) could easily damage you for USD100…business is good..

there are no shopping complex here in turkmenbashy…closes would be in ashgabat. we go to bazaar for anything..its like amcorp mall sunday market. anything and everything..mostly are from china.

compare to ringgit, turkmen manat is stronger. owh, manat is their currency. 1usd = 2.84 manat

cats here are adorable, fluffy. wife asking if i would bring 1 back.. i dunno, maybe yes, maybe no..these two cats are frequent visitor to my room…

figuring out what the hell are we doing in this blessed land?

i waiting for the driver to sent me to airport..nope, i'm not going back home yet.although i am happy it i would.
i'm flying to ashgabat, turkmenistan capital city for some meeting there. i don't know why i was being summoned, being a black sheep i think so..
so rumour around town is that MTC gonna have their contract ended with the government tomorrow. there're chances that the service will be continued, if that do happen i probably have to swtich to a different carrier. never in my life i seen telco provider being ended...this would be the first...till we meet again..

its getting cold now here..and to make things worst, the wind is blowing stronger..
work is progressing slowly at the moment.
i receive my appointment letter yesterday, which mean i will not be getting my salary in malaysia starting next months...also mean that i am official an expatriate..a word i learnt 7 yrs ago.
i have open my local account number already, as mentioned before its a still developing country and almost everything is a new thing here...they have never seen badminton shuttlecock before.
back to the story, banking system here can be considered at its very early stage. when one opens an account with a bank, you can only save or withdraw money from the branch you open your account. your money is kept there and is not going anywhere...there's no account passbook to keep your transaction..what you have is your account number. ans that is important!!!
you get charged for keeping money and withdrawing money..
there's no ATM machine available and credit card is only in your dreams.
that is just how they do it here, people still prefer to keep their money in piggy bank..
there's no such things as unit trust nor dividen.
got work to do tomorrow...need sleep..

i was here for couple of weeks few months ago, at that time i couldn't care less with how these guys here communicate with their love one back there in motherland.
now i know its not that simple...apart from emails and office phone facilities which sometimes loaded with ques, internet data plan was another alternative available.
but as i mention previously the condition is not fully matured yet, so setting high expectation oftenly resulted in devastation. ok, that is exaggerating..
there are 2 mobile telco services in these area. MTC (MTS) and i dont remember the other one. i'm using MTC with voice and data plan. data plan cost about usd30 for 1.5 gb...yes, thought digi and maxis and celcom is expensive? that for prepaid, not postpaid available. MTC is popular since expatriate can subscribe to it, the other one is not open for gaijin.
well, since most of us here at camp site using mtc, the bandwidth would sometimes overloaded and often spending time refreshing the pages to no avail.
i tried using skype to communicate to my wife, did not succeed, i think the goverment here restricted skype access. so i have been using whatsapp to communicate with her, which most of the time is unable to connect.
with 4 hours different, its kinda hard also.
its only been a week and i ramble a lot bout condition here..
update: i can use skype with office internet after office hours...

been a week already, its midnite here now. despite the cold chill wind outside, i feel its kinda hot in the room. open some windows to ventilate the room.
spoke to big boss here yesterday, who'd asked me to activate my transfer here. well, i actually never asked to be transfered here in the first place afterall. why would i?...
i kinda really missed my wife now, spoken thru phone is just not enough, and with the country internet services just making it worst. if i could grow a wing and flew back home, i would trade 10 years of my life time for that. gahhh....
i just wanna be home.....

the great land beyond

at the moment i am currently in kiyanly settlement. i'm not sure how long dhould i be here, but trying my best to be with my wife in kl as soon as possible.
i arrive here on monday, it was cold but not freezing yet. the worst have yet to come.
unlike other colleagues who are fortunate enough to be station in much better environment, here one can't have that much of expectation in socializing themselves.
there's not much can be done except for a regular routine of going to bazaar every weekends.

but overtime those routine activity will slowly kills...i myself over these 6 days have had enough of the food. but lets keep the question after a month.
although this camp site was supposed to have wifi facility, its useless since everybody is hogging on to the bandwidth. so most of us get a data plan from local mobile isp. its spells MTC but pronounce MTS... since it is cyrillic alphabet. too many people using the data plan making it congested as well and we're back to square one..internet is sucks...
work starts at 8 till 5, and since it is coming to winter now so it does not burden one much.. i think i could for a week without bath but that is just disgusting.
as i told my wife earlier, cats in this part of the world is somehow really have thick fur and unlike both kurap and fasha, are well maintain and hygenically clean. not saying that kurap and fasha is pengotor but the csts here seems to have a much higher degree of self cleanliness... heheheh..my wife persistenly asking whether i cud brind i back or not..
i think i need to have another heater for this room, its freezing in the night.
i wanted to load some photos together with this post, as mentioned earlier tje line is sucks.

currently on medical leave…the longest i’ve ever been granted…six days in total..

ok, let see when was last i posted something here. amat malas nak menulis..lebih suka tgk gambar je.

this probably be my last week days in KL since imma be gone to turkmenistan next week. let see if my swollen eye is getting better or not before that. belum beli lagi winter clothing.

Those who know my wife would obviously know her interest in almost anything zombies especially those of george romero works. She is superexcited with the new series The Walking Dead, and now in the midst of collecting the graphic novel of which the series was based upon. Few months back prior to the pilot episode, we gone to kino looking for the novel and there was a lot in stores. bought a couple. i was surprise to know the novel became a hit after the series skyrocket in TV, and hardly found a stock pile of complete set yesterday when we were there to bought some of it.

arrr..i’m gonna miss fables volume 14 later. i admit i do like fables, but to imagine it making its way to TV series would not be a wise move (personally). some books (or graphic novel) are better kept in the way it should be, not transliterated to TV series or movies. Lots have failed in the transition.

rewind few weeks before, me and wife were in Big Bad Wolf buying lots of book and i myself in eons bought books for myself. At the moment i =’m slowly reading Robert Rankin titled The Japanese Devil Fish Girl.

yes, it look like that. not gonna do any review of the book, but i do enjoy reading it, fun.

now, back to current. with limited movability due to my eye infection, i have not bought anything for my trip next week. i should start preparing some checklist for myself. was thinking of buying extra phone for when i be there, this BB of me wont work without BIS. i was eyeeing on the iphone4 (yes i know my wife sees iphone user as douche), i am interested in the insight given by effi on latest microsoft windows phone 7. all in all, i just want connectivity for my emails, FB, tweet dll..so either phone would justify. let give it a day or two..

the cats are behaving snobbish nowadays…tak layan makan balckwoods, next time i’ll be opening booth in amcorp mall utk sesi bergambar bersama binatang comel..rm2 per photo..enough to pay for their own food.

while waiting for inception last week, caught a few trailer of what’s coming to the silverscreen in the nearest time. it seems that hollywood going crazy over 3D movies and almost all would probably be shown in 3D…somehow, perhaps in the next 50 years, watching 2D movies would be like watching P Ramlee movies…

it would be nice if 3D movies could be enjoyed without the aid of that stupid looking 3D glass.

a decade since my last post here, been busy running here and there..so bit of update bout what’s happening

sudah masuk rumah baru, baru lepas selesai cat dapur last week…wife, sila tulis pasal husband cat dapur….hahahhahhah

wondering when will i be able to complete all the works with the library upstairs…sigh, been lazy after the major work have been complete.
was thinking of buying new car, but me being me…won’t happen for at least another year i think…
terminated the service of my good olde benq s73g…been serving me for years…it was still in a good condition, but couldn’t keep up with the demand…so i let it to rest..

my last post was in..hmmmm…long ago

been busy for some time, bit lazy to write anything here also.

nevertheless, lets look what i have been doing for the past 4 months..

those who read my wife, probably knew that we had moved to our own house. so most of the time within the past 4 months circling around the new home.

got they key to the house on the eve of new year, the legal process took forever and i had to call the legal firm every day if not every 4 hours.

we moved in somewhere in february after the renovation on the kitchen were completed and everything else in the house is already been done.

i totally forgot to take any photos of the pre-renovation and moving-in of the house. So before moving in i have the whole living room re-painted with yellow and green, its kinda weird at first but eventually it look wonderful.

had the marble grind and polished to shine, restore its glory back. initially thought that i am able to do it manual. at last, i give it to professional to do it. they are there for a reason.

it took us both months browsing furniture catalogue, going in and out furniture store (same goes for the exterior paint job), just to find a suitable furniture. end of the day, we furnished the livingroom with some of ikea things. which i like very much, just like i imagine it.

The kitchen area were where most renovation job took place, since the cooking area were somewhere in the middle of the place, which i’m not in favor with. so we had it removed to make space for a larger area, and built a new kitchen area at the back. took 1 1/2 month to complete it. burn a hole in my pocket as well. This is how it looks like at the end.

we salvaged the door panel from the old unit and revived it function in the new kitchen.

The house is still on-going some minor touch up, especially in the library (i’m not sure when it’ll be complete) hahahaha

hari tu ingat tak nampak la anak bulan..macam biasa tahun2 sebelumnya…tetiba raya la plak esok nya.

tahun ni aku tak g oversea raya, tahun2 sebelum ni tiap kali raya aku g oversea. tahun ni raya ngan bini la..kt Johor..JB to be exact.

Tahun ni raya tak beli sangat baju raya..cuma ada la selai tu, beli kt reject shop je. buat aper nak beli mahal2…kene peluh, masin gak. Agak berlainan sikit ngan sambutan raya kt oversea sebab sedara mara kat oversea tinggal dekat2 je (bole laung je dari pintu rumah) so nak berjalan ziarah2 time raya tu sekejap je bole cover satu kampung. Kat sini, seminggu raya pun belum tentu lagi jumpa semua sedara mara (kecuali kalo ada sedara-mara buat kenduri kawin time tu la kan).

Penat la jugak beraya, naik kete ni..tambah ngan traffic jam plak…huh…kembang betis bawak kete.

Macam biasa, tiap kali raya mesti ada gamba ramai2. since kali ni semua ada kt jb beraya, so amik la peluang tu nak bergambar satu family.

Anyway, aku rasa semua berat2 badan yang hilang masa bulan puasa tu datang balik dengan pasukan bantuan…tension la camni…

Seperti biasa orang yg balik rumah awal bulan puasa ni is me. And adalah aku yang akan beli air or buat air utk buka puasa. serta kuih2 sikit.

Lepas bukak puasa tadi, tgk fasha dengan kurap kat luar. main2 ngan aper ntah..kurap tgh layan kumbang, fasha seperti biasa carik cicak.

tetiba, dgr bunyi cicak…haaa…dh ada mangsa.

intai2 bukan cicak, rupanya fasha buat bunyi cicak nak umpan cicak2 lain datang…

macam miracle tgk dia buat bunyi cicak…hahahaha..kelakar pun ada.

agak2 kalo dengar2 btul ada keluar nombor tak? taik2 ekor mesti syiok, kalo dpt tau fasha bole bg nombor…besok la tgk2 mner tau ada, hari rabu bole beli..sbb kedai bukak hari tu..hhahha..

Pasar ramadhan? aku tak pegi lagi melawati..malas pun ada gak…setakat ni pegi tgk kt AU2, UK perdana, AU5, Ampang Jaya, Bukit Indah ngan Bukit Antarabangsa…menu samer je sumer tu…makanan yang aku carik takde jual jugak, sbb memang takde jual kt sini…

Pasar ramadhan tahun ni macam agak lemau aku tgk, agaknyer orang2 pun dh malas nak beli kot. ye la kan, kekadang tu makanan indah khabar dari rupa..bila makan, tak sedap la..masin la..manis sangat la. nak sedap beli berger la…gerenti rasa tak lagi nyer..kalo jual air tu lagi la..bubuh ais sebanyak yang bole…so nak selamat, beli air tebu…sure tak nyesal

huhuhuh..nak tauhu sumbat bintulu…and nak bubur pedas sarawak.

esok nak beli ayam percik la…

Kali ni ramadhan ada lain sikit…sebab

1. aku pose ngan wife (ada orang kejut aku sahur…or sebaliknya)

tahun ni kira genap 10 tahun aku tak puasa kt bintulu..since 98 aku g sekolah asrama…

posa selalu mengingatkan aku bila aku mula2 start keje kt KL 5 tahun lepas. time tu haru jugak la…takde kete kalo nak g beli makanan sahur or whatsoever. So alternatively, aku g beli makanan awal2 bila balik keje.

ada jugak masa2 aku sampai rumah, tepat2 bila time bukak puasa and aku tak beli apa makanan pun lagi. then aku balik keje lewat sbb aku g bukak puasa kt KLCC dulu..time tu baru lagi, so takde la kenal vendor2 nak mintak belanja bukak pose…hahahaha

tp paling tak lupa masa aku sahur ngan dunkin donut sambil baring tido…

anyway, its part of life..

Hari ni ada gerhana matahari…kenapa gerhana matahari? sbb bulan kaver laluan sinar matahari. kiranya bulan ada tengah2 antara matahari dan bumi. Tp kenapa bila bumi tengah2 antara bulan dan matahari, dia panggil gerhana bulan, bukan gerhana bumi?

Okay, berbalik kt gerhana matahari. Last sekali gerhana matahari penuh lalu kt malaysia ni adalah tahun ntah..tak ingat..time tu tingkatan 2. tp gerhana hari ni tak lalu malaysia pun. cerita lama…

ingatkan pagi tadi hari cerah la, sbb bole la tgk2 kot ada nampak gerhana. tp kalo hujung KLCC pun tak nampak, paham2 je la. tp sempat la tgk dalam tv masa lunch, sebijik macam dalam heroes.

agaknyer by this time, banyak la power2 yang dh activated sebab gerhana tadi tu. hmmm..apa agaknya power yang aku dapat ek? tapi power yang paling berguna sekali aku rasa, budak ni punya power….

As i was driving to work this morning, all the radio station was hype about michael jackson, callers in and out. And i wonder if jacko gonna be performing here in malaysia. So i continue to listen only to found out that the king is gone.

Yes….King of Pop, Ruler of Neverland, Moonwalker is now gone, dead. end of story.

I was never a big fan of Jacko but i admit that i do like some of his song.

May he rest in peace and be remembered for his great contribution to the music industries and not by his circus-freak life.

One question linger in my head now, was he still a christian as he was born or does he really converted to Islam?

of me and books

i used to like reading a lot…long time ago. I used to read bout UFO’s, famous scientist of the western world, fiction books and lots more. Which at 10, i knew who was marie curie, albert einstein, henry ford, bermuda triangle etc…and no, i’m not a prodigy

I even have 3 library cards so that i could rent 3 books at a time. But all of the books were malay written or those that have been translated into malay. Read investigation series like anak2 hadi, lima penyiasat dan banyak lagi yang lain. So somewhere between there and here, i have lost interest in reading books. For whatever reason it is, not sure. Probably because reading material there in bintulu is scarce and library books are sucks.

English book? tried it and hate it that time. Why? because i don’t understand it. Give a spine chilling horror novel to 10 year old me and it won’t give me a shiver.

So the only books i read from that point onward was one that called text book in schools. And how i love Buku Alam dan Manusia. it was like the ultimate encyclopedia about human and nature. And History utk tingkatan 5 is the best ever, since it tells about world history and it was pretty interesting and not that hard to understand, compare to malaysia history.

I still remember the first english book that i read. Written by JRR Tolkien, the hobbit was the first of english book that i read. it was when i am 22. and took me almost a year to finish that damn book. Pretty interesting though. reason being was i read two pages at a time every night. On the third page, i fell asleep. No sleeping pills required.

Tried to buy LOTR after, only to realise that the language style and level was worlds apart from the hobbit, so it end up gathering dust back in bintulu.

Ironically i am married to one who likes books to no end. Although on every outstation whenever i could found a bookshop i’ll probably bought a book (or few)for her, which none of it i ever read. I lost count of how many books i have bought.

And recently, my wife bought a book online, and it was probably one of which i read with all my heart. and like it so much. A feeling that i last experience long ago, in a far far away galaxy. And couple of weeks ago, found the sequel to seven ancient wonders, the six sacred stone. Can’t wait for the next sequel..Five great warrior…to be release somewhere in Q3 2009.

Hoh…not sure if i’m gonna love reading again…trying to read inkheart trilogy….not sure how long it’ll take me. Unlike others, books read me more than i read them….

Angkor What?

Just recently back from a trip to Siem Reap.

A typical malaysian would just ask, shopping best ke kat sana? Barang2 murah?

Well, I'm not really into shopping holiday.

So what is there to see in Siem Reap? Ancient temples of the ancient khmer civilisation.

So there we are, both me and my wife in siem reap temple raiding.

i always thought that angkor wat is small, but never could i imagine the massive size of the whole area of the temple..perhaps this is what power and god like status gives to one...

lots of stone + lots of slave + lots of elephant + yourself as king = angkor wat

although angkor wat is the only temple around that survive the test of time and well kept (not to mention the biggest single temple complex), there are lot more of other temples that were built around the area and it took us the whole 3 days to cover almost all of them. At the viccinity of angkor wat itself, there are more than 10 ancient temples and ruins left by the ancient khmer. Few others are at the other end of siem reap. Refer to wife entry later for more detail..

What more is there to see in Siem Reap, those who read might perhaps know what TonLe Sap is. Largest freshwater lake in Asia (or at least South East Asia). Inhabited by vietnamese and cambodian, the lake is the main source of food and water to those area surrounding it. We were there in the dry season, so the view wasn't as stunning as it looks like during wet season. Alas, it still give us a marvellous experience.

So long story short...

I've wanted to post few photos but there's too much of good photos to be uploaded and finding a hard time to pick one (i have to compliment myself since nobody would). might putting it in a slideshow.

Neway, let's start from malaysia...

We arrived at Siem Reap around noon which is perfect since we can have a stroll in late noon familiarizing ourselves with the surrounding...

Siem Reap is a small town with lots tuk-tuk and motorcycle. I gave the task to pick the hotel to my wife and she'd did it nicely by a convenient little hotel next to Siem Reap River and almost close to anything shopping. and yes, it's dusty there. So bring along your mask..or just cover your face with your shirt.

For USD16/day it was a nice little hotel that wouldn't burden you much (what's the point of taking an expensive hotel if all you do all day long was out of hotel)

i was confident that i could walk around the town and decided to go ahead to the national museum, not even halfway i realise that it was too far away and headed back for lunch. Soon afterward we decided to take a stroll to Lake TonLe Sap.

Coined as the biggest freshwater lake, it is indeed a large lake..probably hundreds of kilometers wide at its longest width. How much does it cost...seriously i'm not really sure, because we were charged about USD40 for a round trip. They really make money there....and of course being a malaysian, we cannot go further without bargaining for cheaper deal.

sunset was stunning at the lake, but there again, the khmer are so good in forking every dollar from the tourist. Sunset view would cost him overtime charges...but i won't fork another dollar for it, as what i have capture is good enough.

Siem Reap would probably be the best place for batman to retire since it is particularly safe in siem reap (don't qoute me on this when you get in trouble there at night). For those who are looking for booze, siem reap offers a variety of places you could imagine..from mexico to italy all the way to france...pub street is open for you. Those who have the gut, might give it a try for crocodile BBQ. Well for brother and sister who are looking for Halal Khmer food there, choices are scarce. We only knew one local khmer halal there, but it took a while for tuktuk to find it. So don't forget to tip extra your tuktuk driver. Call first when you decide to eat there, since they didn't expect much of a customer to come there. Try the amok...Vegetarian and vegan...don't worry..there's a place for you in the passage. just don't ask for vegetarian crocodile. mamak pun ada..price ranges between USD5 till USD10 per person for a complete set of meal.

Shoppers..ready...Noon nite market and night market is open for you..selling all kind of souvenirs your eyes can laid on..prices? ranges from USD1 to USD30..depending on how good is your bargaining skill. (Malaysian...practice yourself at Petaling Street first)...what i like at the night market? body massage at USD5/hour...hahahaha can't get that here in malaysia..During the day, one could always lurk around in old market or central market, but price are bit hard to negotiate. The trick is to shop early in the morning where you'll be the first customer.

We start the next day and the following 2 days exploring Angkor wat, Angkor Thom and Other temples ruin around Siem Reap. Cost is USD40/pax for a 3 days pass. Worth the trip since the ticket covers most of the temple there. Except for a few which is too far away. Mode of transportation is fairly decent. There's no cab there. if you're in a big group, rent a van or a car. Or hire a tuktuk for the whole day (it'll cost you USD12/day)..or if you're physically fit and absolutely cheap..rent a bicycle.

Since the temple is huge and it worth hundreds of years of ancient history, so it is better to have some understanding of the history. Buy a guide book to aid your travel within the temple, or spend some cash on tour guide (get a certified one)...they are available in any major language spoken..japanese, french, spanish, english, chinese...and no, they don't provide malay speaking travel guide. Although you might find some of them can speak a bit of malay. Tour guide cost you about USD25/day. But worth every dollar spent.

Apsara dance is something that you must watch while being there, a few places offer a free entrance to apsara show. Temple club offering free apsara show, dine in of course. But if you're expecting ala grande show, then you'll have to fork out more. You can opt for night tour in angkor wat or the cultural village for some spectacular show of apsara. For cultural village, do watch the schedule closely, perfect timing is needed so that you won't cursing yourself at the end of the trip there.

For a more educational tour, perhaps a visit to silk farm is more suitable. Best is to go to Artisan d'Angkor where young khmer learn the vocational skills in wood carving, masonry and silk making there. Ask for a tour to the silk farm, and its free. But never forget to tipped the driver and your tour guide.

So basically that is all it is...

My car was at service center last friday when i realise i had a hole in the exhaust silencer, which make more sense on why the car does sound abnormally for quiet some time.

it was huge. argghh..demmit

i was just forking out for the service to replace my timing belt and it burnt a hole in my pocket. let alone this hole in the silencer. i had enough of the loud noises (which is kinda giving it a cool effect actually) but really taken its toll on the fuel consumption.

I did changed it yesterday and was really satisfied with it..no more noises...i could listen to my radio clearly now.

I'm not in labuan anymore (unless they specifically asking for me there)...demob from the previous project to this new project. Hopefully this won't be another bullshit thrown to me this time. i know i should be grateful since it is quite an opportunity to be here, but i was thinking of something else when they assign me to this new project. no point writing here....

another 2 weeks and we're off to siem reap for holidays...been planning it for a while but hadn't done any preparation yet..aiseh...mee in mug tak beli lagi...nak beli sandal baru lagi..

Seriously, whenever people talked bout politics, i'm totally blurred. My knowledge in malaysian politics is shallow..as shallow as it gets. at times when they talked about any particular politicians, i could just sit at the corner and just nod a few..man, that is boring...to me at least...i'm quite amaze at some who had vast knowledge of the local political turmoils in malaysia (may 13 is general knowledge, everybody knows it) even before they're born. i'm not sure whether they had it from wiki or any other websites in the internet. Well, it doesn't interest me.

at least it is better than being stuck to something and let to rust....

Thats what i told people whom i don't see for quiet some time, since the first thing that pop-out from their mouth was "eh, sihat ko skrang...dh makin besar"...

it wasn't a compliment, but a rather "i'm just pulling your leg" act...i know la..because i myself do that...

the fact is, my shirt is really shrinking and shrunking...especially when i spend my whole month here in labuan and i did notice that everytime i got my laundry back, the shirt seems to gotten smaller...not to say more bout the underpant..its ball gripping...hahahahhaah...nobody gets their laundry dry and clean after 3 hours sending it to out...unless you have super-hot dryer...and definitely shrinks your wardrobe...

am in the office at the moment....bosan duduk hotel (sbb hotel nyer internet sucks).....

Was back in KL last week for a training. Got opportunity to shadow for izrul nikah on saturday, and it was tiring. no wonder wedding photographer makes lot of money for their job (of course with some decent good photos)...

and supposed to take their photos for the reception as well end this weekend. everything was well planned, when suddenly murphy's law applied...

got an email from corporate team, telling me that my scheduled assesment is deferred to another date...and its not next monday..shit

haih...hate it when this happen....

while i was laying bored in my hotel room, browsing thru the channel and got stuck on brunei channel. it was showing an local brunei entertainment show, and by rank...i could say that bulletin utama in TV3 was much more entertaining... (you should get the brief idea about it, i guess)

No wonder, bruneian were crazy for akademi fantasia and even sponsors some of the grand prizes in the final....

The Duta - Ulu Klang Expressway was just opened when i was in KL in january, i am in KL at the moment for some training (it's just an excuse for me to be back here in KL actually)

Unlike before (means before married), getting onto MRR2 was kinda easy and hassle free and i still be in time eventhou i'm kinda late from home.

Well, it wasn't a surprise as well for me since i'm know how the traffic move on MRR2 in the morning, especially in Ulu Klang.

Then came the DUKE, a promises that cut short time from the far end of the valley to the other end of it. only 9 minutes to gombak...cheh...

i personally don't bother if they wanted to built a new road nor highway or whatever it is, but my concern is just that they never consider the human factor in it (i guess so).....it's like that they get the road design from the back of Thomas Train set.

Everytime, there is a new road being constructed, it never do solve the traffic congested problem...worst..yes

Probably nobody in the project do his homework by reviewing the route...and the minister themselves as well...hopefully there's one living nearby..so that one could experience it..

Tengok la ni...pagi2 kene redah...sakit otak lama2 gini....dengan driver yang lain pun sama bangang gak..

Looking for a new place

I recently uploading some photos in my photoblog.com. I've uploaded loads of photos and after finishing it realised that only 5 photos were uploaded. Thought it might be a glitch in the uploader tool so i tried to load it manually.

it's then that i realised photoblog have turn from free photoblogging community to a payable site. For free account, only max photos allowed per post.

Was thinking on opening a new blog for photos but not sure which is best. Blogspot is not really nice for photoblogging and i think uploading photos is not that easy.

Wordpress? kinda impress of how many can be done with it, plus the loads of themes and plugins for photoblogging it have, but i think some confusion might be needed to set it up

Flickr? limited photos...need professional account to post more...

I lost in Mount Kinabalu

Since most of the team is not here in labuan during this chinese new year, so few of us that were here decided to go to KK for a stroll and sight seeing. Initially we were thinking of bringing the car to KK, but apparently they're some paperwork needed and too much hassle for us, so we decided to leave the car and go by boat.

Took us 3 hours to arrived KK after much struggle with the seasick and lots of sleep...

it was raining when we arrive and to our dismay, the rain pouring even heavily once we berthed at Jesselton Jetty.

Nothing much can be done since we left our car in labuan, so we just walk around the area lurking for some good food to munch...

To my surprise, KK was even more develop than most of the big cities in sarawak..(shame being one)

needless to say more, almost everything in KL is here in KK....

The sun is smiling happy on sunday and it was a good day to be outdoor....

Looking for some souvenirs for my wife and of course for myself...

Left for labuan at 3pm...and sea was even rougher than when we arrive.....feels like puking on the board..

beside following my wife to her company trip in penang (i'm drove there ok...), there's nothing more that i do on the weekend.

it was a last minute decision actually, thinking i might be going off to labuan week after, i better spent time with her.

I never really keen on driving in the island, its kinda stressing for me. or maybe its because of the road there. Sometimes confusing...

stayed in Sri Sayang, while my wife stayed checked in at Golden Sands Penang....(go check her blog)

got the best view in Batu Ferringhi...

and yes, DVD's...lots of it in Batu Ferringhi..(didn't dare to snap photos at the dvd store, camera mahal ooo)

Wife feels like in DVD heaven where all dvds sell at the cheapest price and acceptable quality.

Did not take lots of photos, since i accidentally brought the wrong lens.

i celebrate my new yea by coming back to KL after nearly 3 weeks outstation in Labuan, probably be going back again soon..sigh

Anyhow,the rest is ok..Few days after nikah, i had a hunch and was skimming thru the temporary sijil nikah which were given masa nikah that day la...long story short, i realized my name was wrongly written. So much for writing it in Jawi....lucky i'm not totally jawi illiterate, else it might took me 3 kids and a daughter to realize it then...

Drove back to JB later that nite and managed to make the correction i wanted. huh...why don't these people just makes it centralise and everybody could benefited from it.

Well, making the correction was just an excuse for me to go to Holiday Plaza..What else one would do there other than lurking for bootleg DVDs.

Managed to get Terminator the Series, Supernatural and few of Barbie's Collections..the last one is not mine...why would i watch barbie...

it's back to office again tomorrow, and it's probably one long way to work, since school season starts tomorrow..

to lose few pound - hmmm....i did lose few pounds, but then they came back again with backup group
to settle all credit cards debt - in progress...slow and steady. althou i have manage not to use it for a veryyyyy long time
to work harder and faster - harder? not..faster? definitely impossible...will try again later
to have new lens for my D-SLR - done
to have a nice and wonderful wedding - done

So what's ahead waiting for me in 2009?

don't really know yet, but i'd expect something big and wonderful...

Work? another 5 years to go before i could bail myself out...hopefully i get to transfer to some place interesting.

Child? hmmmm...i'll discuss it with my wife

aktiviti...takde lain..cukup masa makan...kalo tak makan makanan, makan orang sbb tak buat keje.

Balik2 hotel, tgk star movies...even aku yg suka tgk movies pun dh naik muak tgk bandidas 2-3 kali...tp kira ok la jugak swimming pool kat hotel tutup kul 9, at least bole la jugak nak berkuak. Tp 2-3 hari ni aku tak g situ, giler ramai orang kt pool lounge tu malam. segan la pakai spender je jalan2 kat situ.

Makan? aku jumpa menu baru kt sini....nama dia nasi padpakau, asal usul aku tatau...sedap? bole la, pedas? amat la. tak sure ada ke tak kat malaya...

Naik muak aku amik gamba kat yard ni, tp yg paling best, kalo aku pegang je kamera cam nak amik gamba, sume rigger, welder, foreman, fitter trus rajin buat keje...seolah olah aku ada remote nak suh rajin buat keje,tp takkan la aku nak duduk kt yard tu sepanjang hari. Letih tau...Derang suh g offshore esok, nasib baik la aku tak bawak passport offshore. hahahahahaha..selamat aku

Currently in Labuan at the moment. I had to replace a colleague of mine who were taking a paternity leave. And i'm gonna be here till new year.

i'm not really keen on doing any business trip to labuan and stay here for some period of time. Some people might find labuan is heaven for its free duty stuff, but in reality that was all about it. not more nor less.

Time is not on our side as the deadline to complete the job here is long overdue already, so they're working up their asses to finish the job as soon as possible. Everybody seems like they were on bad period day, and a simple joke seems like a waste of time.

And i, already feel the stress of being here, staying in the office on ridiculous working hour and working on weekend as if it was weekdays. With partner that is as ridiculous as megatron being a pistol in disguise mode, life couldn't be much more peachy. My itinerary here is simple...wake up>go to work>lunch>woooorkkkkkkkkkk>dinner>wooorkkkk>back to hotel>sleep. 7 days a week..demmit...

Could never understand how these people cope with stresses they have all day. Entertainment? Wish i can have it while i'm here.

Lucky that i was feeling un-well today, and decided that i would skip. haih, i don't have any weekend.

Tomorrow gonna be loads of more ridiculous request and task, i sure of it.

Malas Esok kene masuk keje balik

amat la berasa malas...

after whole week holiday and out of office, avoiding calls from office (almost all of it thou.....), its time to go back to office. Hopefully ain't much of pending work to be done, but i doubt it, looking at all those emails i've received all this while (i was only reading it, don't want to reply to any of it..purposely). I think i'm gonna spent half of my day tomorrow browsing, reading and deleting mails in my inbox.

Trip to Malacca on weekend was really tiring. i think my wife could sparring with my mom while doing some shopping. me as usual, not really a walking type of guy although i do enjoy sightseeing. Hotel Puri? better wait for my wife blog entry on that as well. She writes better...

Nurul (my aunt daughter) had a cat called mimi (although i keen to called it memey...) and mimi's mom is still alive and kicking. And recently gave birth to four little kitten (mimi sisters and brothers)..if we humans can called it that way. mimi herself was suspected to be preggie, judging by her swollon belly and her 8 nipples seems to be swollen as well....(bohsia btul kucing tu)....

those of you who read my wife's blog would already seen the photos. but these are better....

i'll post the rest in my photoblog later..got loads of photos to be uploaded, just that i'm too lazy sometimes...

Two weeks after

it has been two weeks since the reception in JB, and both of us were in Bintulu now for our reception here which were held last saturday.

Saturday, is an awkward day to have any reception here in sarawak. mostly due to the fact that it has been implanted in the mind of sarawakian that wedding usually goes on sunday. So few of my family relatives missed the celebration just because they thought it was on sunday.

So how was it, everything went well. Lots of people coming, preparation took the whole week before where all the families gather together to prepare for it. Hopefully my in-laws were all satisfied with what had been served for them while they were here in bintulu...

So here i am....

Tying the knot

know what..i'm getting married this saturday..

how do i feel? happy of course.....i know i won't be sleeping alone anymore...

Colleagues often asking hows my preparation have been...i can't say all is well...not till the very last end i guess.all wells end wells...

Frankly speaking, these last 3 months have been the most erratic times, since i have to make sure that everything is ready according to plan and schedule. At least thats what i'm good at...But sometimes, shit happens and both of us couldn't avoid it as well. Too late to step aside....but everything happen for a reason, for better or worst is up to ones judgement

all i could say is that everything is according to plan and i hope that it all ends as planned.

i hope i could be a good husband and friend to my wife...

perhaps it is true when people says that cat have 9 lives...

Fasha (that was what my fiancee called her) has been admitted to vet hospital after she perform a daring leap of faith from the first floor down to the ground floor of my fiancee house. indeed a heart-wrenching moment for her (my fiancee)..fasha was in her custody while i was away in miri for a meeting.

i myself was petrified to hear about it when it happen......lucky that no bones were broken and everything else is probably ok.

as soon as i got myself in KL from Miri, i went straightaway to the vet, but i was a little too late. so went seeing her the next day.

She couldn't barely walk since IV drops was attached to the feet, pity her.

we had her out from the hospital and took her together to JB, so that we could observe her closely. After a while in JB, she seems to be in happy mood and jumping all over here and there. as if nothing happen before...perhaps being in cages makes her while being doped with morphine makes her a bit stressed.

oh yes, she's seems to be growing healthy and had lots of sleep...

i guess it is true then..cats have 9 lives..

Kitten i found

as i was washing the dishes in the kitchen, i heard a sound of kitten from the backyard. i did heard it from yesterday, but to think that only a passerby.

So i am curious to see if there's a cat giving birth to a kitten back there. i search at the back to found nothing, till i heard it again. it was a kitten trapped among the bushes at the back of my rented house. She was all ready to strike when i found her trapped, scared perhaps.

And i go around the house to get her loose, apparently she's stuck between some small rocks in the drain. got her out, and took her back to the house. so small is she that she could fit on my palm.

My fiancee was excited that she asked me to kept the kitten as pet. i was thinking about the same thing also and perhaps i would do.

beautiful little kitten, long slender tail and long fur...

she's still scared and i put her in the empty room to familiarizes herself..i might charge her for the room later.

in bintulu...came back from balingian last saturday.

raya? well like last year, nothing much happen. just the usual thing. family gather together and meet each other, pay respect to the elders and pay respect to those who'd passed away.

the only thing that is different is that this is the last year i'll celebrate it as singles and so does few of my childhood friend. it seems like it was already written that our wedding falls one week after another.

We've made our so call last trip to Igan this year.

and perhaps my grandfather house need to be renovate with some extra rooms and space since the family had grew bigger. on special occasion, the house would occupy 30 pax at one time like last raya. but i think it'll grew bigger next time. i've to sleep on the couch whereby everybody else sleeps in the living room. its a big house indeed

The renovation done to make space for the kitchen had been done in my father house, and now the kitchen is bigger and spacious, which is good. A few touchup is needed and i knew what to do, i have some work to do tomorrow in the kitchen..adding few more extra things.

feels so bored since everybody else had started to work today and i have nowhere to go...so i play with the kitten here at the house...

i'm positively think that today would be hari raya, but apparently it is tomorrow. so today is anxiously waiting the clock ticking till its dusk.

as usual, like every year everybody gathered around and the house is cramped with all sorts of people, who were merely my cousins. i am so happy this raya, since digi and maxis had finally reached this part of the world. Unlike last year, during the stone age before digi and maxis came, i had to subscribed to celcom for that entire period of holiday...which really inconvenient in the sense that i don't received any sms during that period, because nobody knows that new number.

so this year, i don't have to purchase a new number...

oh, BTW...to pehin sri...

if you would ever think to come down to mukah in conjunction of hari raya and for the greater good of the people there...please don't use any helicopter...try to use the road there...its unfair that you said you understand the problem, but you don't experience it...

i really meant it, the road between lanang and matading is really sucks....read it again..sucks

anyway, realise that the pattern on my samping is identical to my sisters dress...and their colours are purple too.....

oh, i'm proud that my fiance is driving home today....love you.

i am in the process of preparing all the necessary regulation for my marriage and since i am not a local here in selangor nor do my fiancee, i am quiet confused by the process that it all took. My fiancee is a native johorian and me have been residing here in selangor for over 3 years.

at first i thought i have to get application from johor, but it was a relieve that i could do it from selangor, and it was quite a convenience when visiting JAIS website. Almost all the information that i needed was there and it is a clear cut process. i know where to go, who to call.

But when it come to filling up the registration for my fiancee, it was nothing but confusion. Those who'd been there know how confused it is when comes to interstate marriage. although the main objective is similar, but the information given was unclear and i might say "its not helping at all"

so today, i make a call to JAIJ to ask a few queries regarding some of the things that unclear to both of us. Was asking about the Surat status bujang...

A : Cik, saya nak tanya pasal surat status bujang ni. Syarikat tempat saya bekerja ni kebanyakan pengurusan berbangsa cina. Termasuk HR sendiri. Boleh ke nak dapat kan tandatangan dari HR? (since the requirement is must be signed by muslim employee)

B : Takde manager2 lain yang beragama islam ke?

A : takde...manager HR bukan muslim.

B : kalau macam tu, ketua badan kebajikan takde ke?

A : Badan kebajikan (WTF)? tak faham la cik....

B : ala..badan kebajikan, yang uruskan kalo ada urusan2 berkaitan keagamaan macam maulidur rasul, terawikh syarikat utk bulan ramadhan...

People often think that i am a chinese until i started to talk and introduce myself...and i quite liking it..very useful in fasting month..hahahah
Shopping with me would be an unpleasant and tiring experience, especially when i can't decided what to buy. i like to shop alone sometimes...
I don't fold my shirt and t-shirt, i just take them from the hanger and wore it or iron it first...wish there is a machine that can fold my shirt.
I have 4 alarm clock that triggers at different time, but i rarely heard any of them since i have them.
I sing in my car (to any song played by the radio) while driving, its fun and you should try it..
I tried to lose my weight, but too lazy doing the effort..hoping i woke up one morning and it'll all go away...
don't ask me the same question more than once, it annoyed me...

i don't know what did i do, however a spyware/malware or whatever it is managed to slip inside my system and starts to annoy me with pop-ups..i hate when that happen...

like my fiancee told me, its easy to remove a computer virus, because we can pinpoint its location. but when it comes to these spyware/malware, its kinda hard since these thing camouflage themselves within the files in the computer.

it had me struggle all day trying to fix the thing while doing my work in the office. so tense..

as a last resort, i do what other rookies would normally do..things that i try to avoid whenever possible.

after all that i knew failed, i decided to backup my document and formatted the drive. lucky that i had my drive partitioned. Now its alright again and i'm taking every steps with precaution...

More on Ramadham 1429

This ramadhan marked the fourth ramadhan since i started working here in KL, and it will be the ramadhan i remember.

it was the first ramadhan that i am totally by myself. I was just beginning to familiar myself with KL life, going to work by bus and arrive home at the brink of iftar. KLCC coldstorage was then my favourite place to buy food for iftar and sahur, till i got fed-up with it.

There was time that my meal for the whole day were donuts from dunkin donut, and it is something that i would remember for all time. That very morning, i was too sleepy to wake up that in my sleep i reach the donut that i placed beside me before bed and i put it in my mouth. chewing and gulping it down my stomach while i was half asleep. lucky enough i'm not choked from it.

Things had gone better since, and i am grateful for what i have now. i'm trying to make a better living from day to day...

Weighing at 3 Kg. Congratulation to him and his wife for the newborn. No name yet been given by them, but i guess that she'll have a nice and lovely name.

So took the opportunity to visit them at Pusrawi Hospital.

Took a peek at the newborn in the ward, here an initial look at the baby..sleeping

Cupcakes for wedding

Che Dee gave me her cupcakes sample to try since i was planning to get it for my wedding. it was nice of her to make it for me, i know she's always busy.

Gave it to my fiance and she loves it, the icing on top of it was good enough..no more no less. The cakes itself is great and i love it also. I might gave her the contract for the cupcakes for my wedding...anyway, those who are interested also, feel free to tell me and i'll direct you to her..

Today is day four of ramadhan and i think everything is going nicely.

i don't really like the new office. Not the office, but the absent of complimentary parking. After years of free parking whenever i came to work, it really annoyed me every morning.

As usual, every ramadhan most would seek invitational email from suppliers for breakfast. This year is no exception either, althought it is still early for any invitation yet, but it'll come till you got tired of it.

Happy birthday to Malaysia 51st today.

Lucky that it falls on sunday and it is public holiday tomorrow.

Was not doing anything today despite that it was a good day to be out of home, but i prefer to be at home sitting at my chair watching movies all day long and not thinking of anything outside the compound of the house. Guess that lots of wedding today since people will take chances of the 31st august.

My minds do a lot of thinking about preparation of marriage now since its september and that means i have months more to go. Thinking of it might scare me of the wall...

Will start in the new office next Tuesday, its been more than 2 years since i had been seconded to Ranhill Worley to overseer the work there and its been a wonderful times since i got a complimentary client parking. was that good? its terrific..

now i had to wake up every day thinking where i would park to work..sigh

ok. i'm back in KL already. tiring it was, but worth every moment spent.

where was i in the last entry. On friday when i was still there, they asked if i was interested to see them racing...hell yeah.

We have dirt bike race here in malaysia, this is something different...dirt car race..

we went to Creek County Speedway, where it was held and started at 6p, it last till 12 midnight.

it was fun and exciting, compare to F1 this is much more better. The car and the prize money and everything else is not something to compare to F1 or Nascar. For the locals here, it is more of passion for driving and the adrenalin rush being part of the race. Few categories of car included, from stock car to little midget they called mini sprint. Priceless...and the team that invited me won a race that night and i being honorary guest of the team gets to keep the winning trophy (which now standing next to my TV).

It was Sunday and planning to have some sightseeing in Tulsa City (hoping that it was like KL)...lots of people everywhere. It was something i never expected, Tulsa City is like ghost town..hardly to see anybody on sunday. so we went to this Irish restaurant somewhere on 1st street. had grilled atlantic salmon and it was delicious...

and monday again..gone back to office.same routine..

back in KL already, missed nasi lemak and teh tarik..hahahahah

Day 3

wake up this morning at 7 and i think i have overcome my jet-lag. Sunrise was lovely this morning. it his direct thru my window and i get a very clear view of it. Spoilt that i can't get to the balcony and the windows wasn't that clean to take a photo.

Had my breakfast, and was still thinking why there were lots of teens at this hotel at this time. its like the whole hotel was occupied by teens, and all of them are wearing suits and the girls dress nicely and looks pretty decent.

The office wasn't quite far from the hotel, and we drove to there. it was a surprise to see what's waiting for me there.

They been expecting me from last week and i was introduced to every single one of them there. of course i couldn't remember their names and faces. But they knew me. The welcome was really nice that they had this put up on the entrance...

Haslee was still on his way from Denver this morning. Will only arrive at noon.

They invited me to joint them for a lunch, and we had our lunch at Bodean Seafood Restaurant, somewhere along the road there.

Ordered a Grilled Atlantic Salmon. It was really nice. The price? if its in KL, it would definitely be Rm30 for salmon. its priced for USD12 and if you're earning in USD, it is considerably cheap (i think so)

So there goes my day 3 here. Need to buy sandals, i don't want to walk with shoes everytime i goes out of my room to get something from outside...

Day 2

I woke up early today and was still having a terrible jet-lag from yesterday flight. LA seems quiet early in the morning. was thinking either to take breakfast in the hotel or i'll just skip it and eat plentiful of food in the flight. its a good and nice morning today. My room was not a smoking room, so i have to walk down to the lobby to have a puff. a women joins me for smoke and we started to having a chat. She was particularly living in mobility and LA was one of her transit city. Next week she'll be in Ho Chi Minh City.

I decided to go to LAX early since the airport security will be fussy and long. its really convenient since shuttle buses are everywhere and its easy. The thing with airport on this side of the world is that, unlike KLIA Flight check-in is done from centralised location, so i don't have to figure out which terminal i would go to. Here, each terminal handles certain airlines and believe me, when you got to the wrong terminal, you'll be dead walking to your terminal.

My flight to Tulsa took about 2 1/2 hours and the first class was probably the smallest there is. seriously small it was acknowledge by a guy sitting next to me as "the smallest first class in the whole america"

It was hot and sunny in Tulsa and i am really2 tired + sleepy.

Stayed in embassy suite, it was nice hotel. the room is good. it's like a small apartment for one and considerably cheap for a price of USD89. it even bigger than Four Point hotel which i stayed in LA yesterday.

Apparently i couldn't see any big malls on the way to hotel from airport. What i had for dinner?

i forgot what they called it, but it grilled shrimp and salmon with peanut sauce....

and now, i'm still tired and sleepy....had to go to office tomorrow...

Haslee misses his flight to KL this morning, which resulting in me travelling alove to US.and dia tak ambik lagi Visa dia...kacau kacau...boleh imagine muka taxi driver tu masin je kene marah sbb lambat ambik haslee and terlepas flight

The flight was really tad bit boring since there was nobody to talk to since everybody else in the flight are either business man or dato2 or foreign tourist.

Just arrive in LA and feeling really tired and sleepy, spent the whole flight watching movies and movies...tomorrow had to get up early for flight to Tulsa. Busuk btul rasa, tak mandi lagi since dari KL tadi...ni yang susah tempat org putih ni...berak takde pili air...

Makan? tutup mata, bukak mulut...kunyah je la..(Peluang pemasaran sos cili kt sini kemungkinan bagus, sbb takde sos cili maggi. tak sedap makan fries cicah ngan tabasco)

Me and my colleague in office was having a chat about the upcoming Beijing Olympic yesterday, and suddenly popped up a question which olympic torch lighting ceremony was their favourite. all with their own opinion favourite but at last we find consensus on Barcelona 92' was the best yet. its amazing to see the archer lit the flame from a distance. although some says that it did not hit the target, but nevertheless the gimmick was impressive.

Last night, was waiting for that moment. i didn't see all of it from the start since contingent marching in the stadium wasn't that impressive. it was amazing seeing all the things that was in the making before did very well last night. missed the malaysian contingent marching in. And China did include everything about china last night in the opening. Olympic torch runner from china last night did deserved the right to hold the torch, all of them were either the first medalist or gold medalist for china in previous olympic (wonder if malaysia were to organise the olympic, would we have enough medalist to bear the torch?). The last torch running was really something unthinkable, running in mid air hanging at i think more than 10 metres. it must have taken one really good team to think of such finale. China reveal the currently largest olympic torch ever to the world (it was more like a flare boom or flare stack in Oil processing plant).

Eat and Drink

its interesting to see those travelling chef in TRAVEL & LIVING channel. The likes of samantha brown, antony bourdain, bobby chin and few others more are simply seems interesting. Travelling the whole world for food and drinks, for me is awesome.

Breakfast in New York, Lunch in Mexico and Dinner in Greece....

But sometimes it is bad when they had to travel to a place where bugs are delicacies...i pity them for having to eat it, just to please the locals. Wonder if they do have opening for such kind of jobs to a moslem. it would be great and the employment contract would be having additional clause about non-halal food.

The work does sound interesting....

Unlimited Data Plan

i was thinking on upgrading from prepaid phone that i have currently to a postpaid plan.

I love my current number as it reminds me of my missing handphone few years back. Changing to a new number would be too much since i have to update everybody in my list about the changes. at least, by using prepaid i could limit my usage, but in some other ways postpaid prevail. Prepaid doesn't provide any decent data plan sucks lot of prepaid top-up and since i have manage to get my working email directed to my PDA, unlimited data plan proves to be convenient. But the thing is, every data plan available were either pay as you use or unlimited plan. Unlimited plan doesn't include any voice plan and i have to add a voice plan to it. hmmm...

was watching this show in Discovery channel about a summer camp in china specialize in training troubled teen in ever growing china today. At first glance it look like what we have here in Malaysia, the national service program. I doubt the training they do would be similar, since the trainer in that camp in china shows no mercy for little emperor nor to any princesses. it was like commando training camp for teens.discipline, discipline and discipline....since they were sent by their parent or sent by force to that camp.

i fully support the national service program introduced by government and if I were to have the opportunities, I would applied for it. unfortunately, the training is not for everybody. only those who are selected will go. if the objective was to have a support army in case of anything can happen, they might have achieved the target. But I'm not sure if the program will aid in reducing teens problem that been hovering parents today's.

wonder what would be the reaction of parent here if government wanted to introduce such program.

i was always having this thought of adopting a pet, a cat perhaps.

love seeing them jumping around, waiting and running at you when you came home from work. Playing at my leg while i'm watching movies.

cats are great companion i think, and they are more hygenic than dogs. Dogs are cute only as puppies...

But to think about it again, since i sometimes gone for outstation and who would fed my cats, if there's any.

giving it a second thought, i think i'll pass on it at the moment.

i was thinking if it was possible to have a politician that lived modestly...riding motorbike instead of a big black mercedes with a hunky bodyguard with face that could tell you i'm gonna chew you like a meat..nah..won't happen in million years

i have my time to watch the people's talk debate between TS Anwar and Shabery last week, and apparently was dissappointed on how shallow the answer being given by government representatives in deliberating his point. all i could see was more to ancient history and all things that others already had known. Might be watching too much of youtube or reading lots of other craps on the web. All i could capture during the debate was venezuela, PETRONAS, venezuela again...PETRONAS again and again...and others could be seen as an attack to one's pastime.

i think lots of people who watched it that night was hoping that they could have some insight on how the government mitigate the issues and with what had been given by PETRONAS, how they can channel it for the greater good of the people. and on the opposition, lots are really interested to hear what are action plans to be taken if they have the chances to do it, or at least what people could do to solve it together.

Personnaly, this issues was not supposed to be single pointed to government only. Local companies should have taking their parts in aiding to the situation and not just hiring newly grad as management trainee and paying them deliberately unacceptable wages just because they were unexperienced. That's just bullshit.

Companies should offer good remuneration packages and competitive wages so that people are motivated. Don't just say newly grads are too snobbish and picky in choosing jobs. Earning Rm1000 in some remote area with no cell coverage is not the same as earning similar wages while living in KL. and with the current prediction of rising rate of inflation, it just a matter of time before we realize that our money is no good.

its been a good week this week, its not really hot during the day and i had a good sleep at night. Not hot.

a colleague in office offered a ticket to Philharmonic for a show, was quite interested with the offer but when he says that it is full attire event and i stopped. Don't have a suit.

Had dinner at Thaba Village tonight, i think the last time i was there was during the fasting month. As usual i would request for the vegetable dhal, i like it.

i never been to the national zoo, and thinking it might be good if i could go there this saturday...

Moving out and moving in

We were moving in to a new office in Rohas and last saturday i had to come to office to make sure all things is being taken care off by the movers. supposedly we have moved in to the new office last january, but the new place is not ready yet at that time. but patience did have its price.

The new office supposedly to placed all of the team, but since we have few things to be done in PRW some of us are still staying there. Maybe in few weeks more, all of us will be moving to the new office as well.

Gosh, i'll be missing my privileged parking ticket this time...guess i have to consider riding a bicycle to work...

life's been really slow since my tv became not more than a tv.

especially last night when the talk of the town were being debated and was broadcasted in air. i can survive without having a fridge, but not without TV..

video streaming from youtube or anyelse similar is just to slow for me since i have to waiting for its to load and while watching, buffering is just annoying.

suddenly i remembered something that i've saw in labuan. Online TV for malaysian national channel. (TV1 & TV2 only)

well, at least i could watch TV, TV1 pun bole la..i haven't watch TV1 for a very long time. let see whats new.

Suria was telling me about some Clown request on making the NOC Account to be made public.

in fact, the report was already made public and people are welcome to download it from the NOC corporate website. By making its publicly in newspapers like all those other company did was a waste of paper. People would rather read gossip and sports than reading company annual report passionately and have a full understanding on the content. how often did you see someone reading company annual report in newspapers with passion and reach orgasm after reading it?

This will not change anything on the market trending for the black gold globally. just because you graduated from a prestige university and holds a position in politics here doesn't mean that you know everything about the business. if its that easy, i myself would open up my own oil company. Its not as simple as 1+1 = 2. Lots of things are taking account in it and it is not cheap.

i might not be the best person to explain, but i know some bits and pieces on how the business goes and i don't see how are those proposals/suggestions for not buying petrol gonna drive the prices down....

p/s: if i were given trust by my people at my area, i would probably trying to develop my area as best as possible. not acting like a clown...

last weekend was probably the hottest day i think. (its Soltice last week, maybe)

taking bath 4 times, i wish i had a pool or jakuzi in my house. i would sleep in it when its hot.

My TV set is broken and i had nothing else to do...the internet bores me (since i don't have that many favourite sites as others would have and people don't upload new things on fotography on daily or hourly basis)

attending farina and ashaari wedding last night. WOW...that's i could say. Video montage was nicely done, worth every penny and dime spent.

Went to the curve on sunday night, though there would be nice opportunity to capture one good photo of anything. only to realise that i forgot my memory card inside my laptop when i was uploading my photos before. demmit...miss a shot...

when you think you didn't need it, it is that time that you needed it the most. just like last night at farina's wedding reception at dewan perdana felda. totally forgot its a high ceiling hall with very large space and i did only bring my 17-50mm lens. we're sitting at the back end of the hall, and the altar was like half kilometre away in my viewfinder. should have brought my 55-200mm last night. the guy in front of our table was easily sitting at his place and taking photos with his 18-200mm VR while i was struggling. i could just got in front and take pictures but since all the honorary guest was all big2 names in the malaysia political world (am i?)..i just forget it..

i hate when it comes to shooting in high ceiling, wide spaces because i tend to make lots and lots of UE and OE photos...i don't know how to figure out the solution. somebody help me...feels like i'm having a fever la...

The recent price hike in petroleum product had began to shows its implication.

As i was going back to Empire Tower from KLCC earlier this afternoon before friday prayer, police were everywhere guarding the place and they have KLCC all barricaded.

Heard it from nad that they do body inspection at some places near KLCC.

Anyway, raw food supply now are showing signs to a price jumps. Nad is going to get married soon in july and she told that catering prices might increase to about 20%, thats alot i think. considering how many did she invite to her reception.

PRW had began their 4 1/2 days working hours this week, means that they'll be working for 9 hours from monday to thursday and half day on friday. what a luck...everybody knows that its hard to continue working after friday prayer. told my bos about the new working hours and he said that all those who are stationed in PRW is not affected by the new hours. huhuhuhu...its either i had nothing to do on friday afternoon or i had to get back to KLCC in the afternoon. gosh...

Probably in the next 2 weeks, all of us would be moving in to a new office in Rohas Perkasa. if i have to be demob to the new office from currently heaven on earth at Empire Tower. i would have to say goodbye to the best privilege for somebody who's working in KL..the free season parking card. i like being in Empire Tower since it is really convenient to do all needed errands. Foodcourt is nice, i could always go to Jeff Camera shop drooling over the lense and camera there.

TV and Coffee

When I first started to work here in KL, the only thing that keep me entertain on weekend was a small television with a really bad reception. Then I bought a second hand TV and astro, good enough to keep me alive on weekends. Couple of years later, the TV began to show signs of aging. And luckily at that time, my housemate who was planning to move into a new house in a few months bought an LCD Tv. Was so excited with the changes in perspective and views.

Few months down the road, he moved out to his new house and he brings with himself the LCD Tv…

Leaving me with the tv that I bought and as soon as I powered it up, there was motion and few minutes later…it wasn’t there anymore. So the old ways of repairing TV was to bang it on its side and for quite sometimes that approach was indeed a success.

Until yesterday, I was keen on watching some movies on astro when its mood turn bad (must be that time of the month). I got really fed-up with it and changed it to the small tv set which was kept in the storage ever since I bought the 2^nd tv. It works, but only for a few hours, when it goes blank also. Guess, i have to buy a new tv next month….

well, after much sought anticipation. the moment actually comes where all rumors become reality.

People are queuing in every pump station that i see...

i guess for the next few weeks, people will be gathering in front of KLCC after friday prayer...particularly blaming the Oil and Gas Company there for the price hike..

aiya...like a dog barking at stone la. no use, its not them who govern the hike. without them exploring for more resources, this hike would happen long ago..

this is inevitable situation after all, blame those who started the war on the other side. With the current demand for petroleum and escalating cost in material, skilled manpower, logistic, together with the exploration and production cost at never before imagine places had all taken its toll worldwide. That's not including all the political event that leads to the price hike. when the barrel price goes up..so does others...its a linear equation. do the math.

Wedding, Tudung and Kain

I could never understand the relation between women and fabric. it's like they were bonded for eternity.
I was in Kuala Terengganu last weekend, for my cousin wedding there. My mother was with me, together with my sister and uncle and aunt. The wedding was a bonus for my mom, the real reason might perhaps be fabric in Kuala Terengganu.
I salute my mom intuition for fabric, its like she had a third eye. 1 hour before bersanding, she managed to find this there....

it took them not more than 1/2 hour to shop of what would normally took half day in Jalan TAR. i lost count of how much they spent during that 1/2 hour in the store. probably could open a new store back in bintulu....

we were supposed to go back immediately after the wedding, but since the store was so close to where we stayed, we took a last visit there.

i had a revelation....
was watching al gore's An Unconvenient Truth and it was frightening trying to imagine all the possible thing that could happen and already happening to the world now. Melting ice shelf in the antartica and antartic causing countries on the shorelines to diminish is a nightmare since malaysia is on the tip of the asia continent (ships would have shorter route to the east then).
During my short trip to houston in february, i've seen quite a number of Toyota Prius there and any auto-freak would probably knows what that piece of metal can promise. Prius is not here in Malaysia, yet....until this morning, that i caught a glimpse of prius thru my rearview mirror.
I thought it would be from singapore but no...it bear perak state registration number. fuh...he might got some AP from somebody...but it was nice to see somebody doing his part on going green...

God of War and me

when i first bought my PS2, there was no particular game that tick my interest. until couple of months later, sony release GOD of WAR.

It was one of the best game i've ever played since serious sam 1 and 2 and of course my never finished diablo. For those who are looking for some kill kill die die game with an interesting story, i would recommend this game. Years later, sony came out with the sequel, GOD of WAR II. Kratos, its main character continues his adventure running errands and reclaim his life back.

Did took my whole weekend trying to complete the game and i did it since it is basically similar with its predecessor. Really2 satisfying and i am pretty sure that there will be another sequel to this title. few months later, Sony announces it will release a psp version of god of war and recently its finally being release. i guess it's the right time for me to upgrade my memory stick to bigger capacity just for the sake of that game.

GOD of WAR : Chain of Olympus, was release as PSP version of the title game. and playing it on PSP is rather challenging because of PSP physical form. Took me 10 hours to complete the game and i am satisfied with it.

i was right about they releasing GOD of WAR III, but unfortunately it will be in PS3. huhuhuhuh

50 years after

Was having lunch with my fiancee at amcorp mall today when a young chinese guy suddenly appear out of nowhere and sit at our table.
I am pissed at first, but later decided to hear to what this guy would say. Representing a charity home somewhere in PJ, he is collecting donations from public to aid them. Without me asking for any legal document, he's already shows up all the letters including his identification card to prove that he is doing none other than charity works. What amazed me is that he is on semester break and have nothing to do at home. Rather than died in boredom, he decided to be a volunteer doing this charity job. something i myself would think twice and still hesitate to do it (sound really selfish)
Countless time people from charity home approached me asking for donation and none so far i've seen a young malay doing it (except during friday prayer). An explaination from my fiancee seems logic enough for my brain to work the equation.
Most of them volunteers are those who are studying in college and was looking ahead for a better opportunities in future, and their resume would be filled with charity works rather than Curricular activities participated in secondary schools (which was still included in resume for job applications that require 10 years experience working). Societies out there (whom are more sensitive on humanitarian issues) would easily recognise these experience and how many gold medals you won in 100 metres relay during school sports day 10 years ago won't help (in malaysia, this might only happen if you're applying a job in MERCY). Universities abroad would love to see that if they're applying for placement in their university.
Of which remind me about my friend gopal, who love to do volunteer jobs for charity home.
While most of our malay young now would normally krumping around aimlessly at malls around city centre puffing smoke out of their nostril, that guy would smile as he's looking forward seeing his business empire growing.
I did heard somebody says "with or without DEB, we are still here waiting for the skies to rain gold while others are making gold"

my cousin passed away earlier this today. after struggling fighting with his brain tumor for the last six months.

Malaysia decides...thats what been the headlines for Channel Newsasia for few days prior to election. and yes, yesterday malaysian did decides what will be their future.
Rather surprising i might say, with all the massive forces and campaign done, BN can't retain 2/3 of the parliament seat this time.
guess that people of malaysia today had been opening their eyes to the world and decides which best for them.
well, let just wait for the new reform government tomorrow and see how they will drive the country and materialise all their promises to the people.
for better or worst, let the next election decides it again.

First thing in the morning before starting all the work, i would normally open jokes.com and read couple of jokes before i could move in to my work.
Daily reading material would be from wikipedia, just search for whatever thing that interest me. Most of the times work related stuff that need explaination in plain english.
When they are less workloads, or just waiting for something from others, watching these online anime is something great to do. Worth watching while doing work also.hahahahahah

The company financial year coming towards its end and as usual, it time to summarise the appraisal. i always hate this thing, but what could i do.
With the new format introduce and much lesser timeframe to complete it, everybody seems so stress when people talked about it. who's not?
With all the critical drawing are almost complete, theres bit less busy with project work, but the documentation and all the preparation for the fabrication stage still kept the office busy at the moment. some of us already been mob to site while the rest are still waiting for the evaluation to be completed. hopefully by april we could have it all completed. With phase 3 concurrently being initiated together with production enhancement programme, there seems to be no ending to this project.
Meor gave me a link to tamron newly developed lense for my SLR, which comes together with built-in autofocus motor. Guess it will be much better than the new sigma, either in quality nor its price tag. thought i see one a jeff's store today, but it wasn't.
i think i ruined my 8Gb thumbdrive. huhuhuhuhuhhu...
Parliament cabinet was dissolved last week and new election date will be on March 8, 2008. Everywhere one could see posters war between parties, Not a really pleasent sight when they posted it almost everywhere. Think it would make a great theme for my next photo.

First time for first timer

This is a late entry actually.

I was in US end of January. Have a business meeting there with a manufacturer of our equipment.

It was actually the first time ever I did gone anywhere outside Malaysia. I had no idea of what to write at the moment since I just got back to the office after been almost 3 weeks away.

How do I feel? Well, I’m excited. But never realize that when they say its cold, they really meant it. The moments I step out of the plane when arriving in LA, a sudden breeze of cold wind slap my cheek. First few minutes it was pleasing, but then when you could not feel anything on your thumb and shakes like a potsmoker, you’ll know that is really cold.

Its really a tiresome journey, sitting in a plane for more than 10 hours, watching movies and eat all you can. You sleep, woke up and sleep again and then woke up again but still not there yet.

Arrived in Houston at 5am, check in time was at 12pm. Cold, tired, sleepy and I haven’t taken any bath for the past 24hours nor do I shit any. Being a typical Malaysian, it is custom to have water tap next to the toilet bowl. But since everything is done the opposite way there, you could just imagine what effort it takes just to do the john. Unfortunately the hotel does not serve any breakfast unlike any other hotel we used to stay at. Lucky there was a grocery shop just few minutes walk from the hotel and a nice hot cup of coffee and a cookie is refreshing enough.

Skin feels really dry despite the cold condition, makes it really itchy. Just can’t stand it….

A nice experience to be there, even only for a while.

came back from lunch, and as usual. feel really sleepy and doozy. then got call from zarim "weh, petang ni pukul 3. tempat biasa". kalo aku takde bole ke? i ask him. abes sape rep dari project?...btul jugak, i thought.
hey, anybody sees my thumbdrive? jessica in rage . nope, misplaced maybe. i told her.

meeting at KLCC and it would actually last for couple of hours.

a lot of people hovering around the office. 'ada orang pengsan ke?' i said to myself.
ros, apa hal? i ask my project secretary.
'opis kene pecah masuk, satu laptop hilang ngan thumbdrive jessica. ros answered with slight tense in her voice.
gone back to my room, then i realise that another laptop was missing also in my room.
'ros, noli nyer laptop hilang gak. dia potong cable' i shout from my room.
ros was getting really pissed off with the missing laptop, since she was around during lunch hour when and indian came to her. told her that they came from carpet company doing inspection on the carpet and would be changing it. unknown to her that there's another guy on the other side was quietly leverup the project team rooms.

I've been using postpaid before and i think it sucks. Its really hard to controlled whom and how long the calls 'll be, and i've learn my lesson. so now i am proudly using my prepaid as i could save nor control my usage, and with maybank2u, things just got better. theres time also where i can't control my calls especially when things got busy with work and lots of people to calls.
But as times pass by, mobile network system also got better, offering packages that seemingly irresistable. lots of time i do thoughts about changing my prepaid to postpaid.
Its just bills make me go crazy. just enough with utility bills, credit cards....

was browsing thru crunchyroll for some anime that might interest me and suddenly i remember one anime i used to watch when i was a kid.
I used to watch Tosho Daimos everytime they aired it in TV, eventhou at that time i couldn't understand the storyline but cartoon, robots in disguise, good versus evil, that should just go well without any understanding.
kinda amazed to see todays anime have evolved especially in graphics and how well they try to imitate real life situation in it. in tosho daimos case, i could even see that it was hand drawn. i don't think i'm gonna spend my time watching the complete series of tosho daimos.

Last nite PRW annual dinner was great, except that i totally forgot to increase my camera ISO setting. which result in horrible photos due to slow shutter and eventhou the lens were equipped with VR, doesn't help at all.
Lucky since they are still few photos which is ok. guess that my DIY bounce card do not perform as i imagine it would be.

My parent and my granny went off to mecca to perform their hajj on monday, among the last batch from malaysia.
they arrive here in KL last sunday, supposed they were to arrive in Tabung Haji KJ around 3pm. think that there is some logistic problem. there's only one buse to transport those people to and fro Tabung Haji KJ.
have to wait for them till 6pm..whew
pity my fiancee since she had to go for work that night (stupid people who always take MC) and she hadn't had any rest.
and for me, it was really a tiring day because i have to drove back to ampang to replace my dad bag since it was damaged on the way. lucky enough that traffic was not crazy that day, else i'll be crying and screaming in my car.
past few days, i wanted to change my blog template. but was too lazy that i just leave it pink as always. nobody would bother anyway. was thinking of getting myself a handheld device..PDA la. looks so convenient, with word processor, powerpoint and excel and PDF viewer. top in the market now would probably be that HTC TyTn (Titan) II with bloodsucking price of RM3k. but the feel is nice.
smartphone would be a good option also...let me think about it first.
it's not a priority at the moment.

idiot Box and arrogant doctor

I am having a weird fever.
I am as healthy as a horse in the day meanwhile during nights i would shiver and shaking like rattling gun used by construction workers. The doctor says i have a slight fever, yeah..slight. if i could transfer my fever to him, i would wonder how he will call his partner to stand by him just because he had a slight fever.
medicine provided are not helping at all. i am still shivering during nights even though i turned off the fan and was covered by double blanket.
so i ask for a blood test today, i could get the result at 3pm in the afternoon. so i waited patiently since he suspected me for dengue. my first suspicion was not dengue, i was really sure that this is viral fever or just an infection inside me.
so i waited. 3pm.....passed by without any calls, 4pm...then i decided i should call myself.
eh, doktor tu dh balik la......demn stupid doctor...after sucking all he could from my medical account, he forgot his responsibility to me. really2 stupid and arrogant one....
my fever shows no sign that i am getting better. so i decided that i should get my blood tes report and ask for a referral letter to specialist.
the bloody stupid doctor is not in, so it was another doctor. which is a bit more professional in handling patients.
i am not getting any better, my temperature were higher that it was this morning and few degrees more, i could boil water on my tummy and make a nice cup of tea.
i ask nothing more than to ease my shivering during night time and reduce my fever, but he ain't helping at all. i guess he would spent much of his time in the consultation room googling the internet.
if there's an injection, give me the shot. i prefer it that way.
so i got two shot at my buttock.
and now i am feeling a bit better that it was an hour ago...
can't watch any shows in TV today, theres something wrong with it. that box had been my 'Mr wilson' for 3 years.
guess i should buy plasma HDTV tomorrow. hmmmmm
